1 - DEFINITIONS

a. Nigerian means a citizen of Nigeria, resident in Nigeria or outside the Country.

b. Team or Applicantmeans a group of Two or Three citizen of Nigeria, resident in Nigeria or outside the Country.

c. Team Membersrefers to individuals who constitute a Team.

d. Applicationis the online form filled and submitted by a Team intending to participate in an USPF Changemaker Challenge.

e. Application Window means the time period when applications can be completed and submitted online for the USPF Changemaker Challenge.

f. Tech Solution Category refers to predefined areas in information and communication technology which an Applications must belong to.

g. Tech Solution/Idea means a technology solution conceived and being developed or fully developed by an Applicant.

h. Judge means an individual selected for their expertise, experience and commitment to furtherance of the USPF Changemaker Challenge goals and objectives; and also saddled with the responsibility of reviewing, shortlisting and evaluating Applications.

i. Successful Applicants are Applicants who are shortlisted and selected to participate in the hackathon from the Application pool following outcome of review by judges.

j. Mentorship refers to the process of grooming successful Applicants in different key areas aimed at advancing the tech solution/idea as well as overall development of the Team Members.

k. Event means the USPF Changemaker Challenge hackathon.

l. Promoter means Universal Sevrice Provision Fund (USPF)

m. Beneficiaries are Teams and Team Members who have emerged as winners in the USPF Changemaker Challenge. It also refers to those who have undergone mentorship and/or incubation from the USPF Changemaker Challenge.

n. USPF Changemaker Challenge Forum is an online platform for Collaboration among stakeholders on USPF Changemaker Challenge related matters.

2 - ELIGIBILITY

a. Applicants must be Nigerian (Living at home or Abroad).

b. Form a Team of at least two (2) persons and maximum of three (3) persons.

c. Team members must be at least fifteen (15) years of age.

d. Teams must be knowledgeable in Tech solutions or software development.

e. Must have a demo or tech solution in any of the Solution Categories.

f. Must have a 1-minute Pitch Deck Video & a 5-Pages Pitch Deck slide (PDF).

3 - INELIGIBILITY & CONFLICT OF INTEREST

a. Non-Nigerians are ineligible to apply for USPF Changemaker Challenge.

b. Employees from USPF, its partners, affiliates or subsidiaries are ineligible to apply for USPF Changemaker Challenge.

c. The Promoter's partners (agents, business partners and technical partners), subsidiaries etc. involved in the creation and administration of the USPF Changemaker Challenge are excluded from participation.

4 - APPLICATION

a. Once the Application window is open, eligible Applicants can apply for the USPF Changemaker Challenge online via this online Portal

b. Only eligible applications will be considered for review and evaluation.

c. Applicants are required to accept this terms and conditions during sign up and application submission

d. Only one Application is permissible per Team for every USPF Changemaker Challenge. Applicants shall not make multiple entry applications under the guise of different names, email identifications, different Tech solutions etc. Multiple entries by an Applicant or multiple entries for the same Applicants shall be a ground for disqualification and possible future barring from the USPF Changemaker Challenge.

e. Third party Applications are not allowed. All Applications must be submitted by the Applicant.

f. An Applicant shall not make multiple entries under different names, email identifications, different Business Ideas or Entities. Multiple entries by an Applicant or multiple entries for the same Entity shall be a ground for disqualification.

g. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any late, lost, misdirected damaged or delayed Applications as a result of any network, computer hardware or software failure of any kind whatsoever.

h. Beneficiaries of the USPF Changemaker Challenge are not allowed for apply for future USPF Changemaker Challenge events, if such events occur within 2 years.

i. Applications made online using methods such as a macro, script, using automated devices or processors are not allowed and shall be disqualified.

j. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any Applicant for tampering with the entry process or failing to make entries as specified by the Rules.

k. By applying for the USPF Changemaker Challenge, Applicants attest that their Application:

- Is true and correct in all material respects;

- Is their own original work;

- Does not infringe or violate the rights of any third party, including but not limited to, ownership, copyrights, trademarks, patents, logos, licensing rights, rights of publicity or privacy or any other intellectual property rights.

- Is not contrary to any applicable laws.

l. The Promoter shall disqualify Applications which:

- Are franchises, import/export business or government contractors;

- Contain any content that is likely to be considered offensive by the Promoter or could reflect negatively the name, reputation, or goodwill of the Promoter or Entities associated with the Promoter and other parties acting on its behalf;

- Include trademarks, logos, or copyrighted material not owned by the Applicant or used without the right holder’s prior written permission (including famous names, company names, etc.);

- Defames, misrepresents, or insults any third parties;

- Poses adverse risks to the environment, human lives or property

- Promotes or is sympathetic to any political agenda;

- Promotes terrorism and/or insurgency or other illegal activity;

m. The Promoter reserves the absolute right to disqualify any Application without granting any opportunity for challenge, if it has reasonable grounds to believe that the application:

- Has been made fraudulently, or contains any false or misleading statement;

- Has breached any of the Eligibility Criteria or other Rules;

- Has infringed on any intellectual property of any other person(s);

- Was made in breach of any applicable law; or

- It is in the interest of the USPF Changemaker Challenge to disqualify such Application.

n. Communication with shortlisted Applicants shall be by email messaging to the email address provided by the Applicant on SignUp. The Promoter shall not be responsible for the reliability or otherwise, delayed receipt or non-receipt of any email communication.

o. Where an Applicant is unsuccessful at the point of shortlisting for the USPF Changemaker Challenge, the Applicant shall receive an email message within 30 days on the outcome of shortlisting.

- Shortlisted Applicants are responsible for, and must comply with any health advice/regulations required by respective existing laws/guidelines in Nigeria. Any associated costs for this are the responsibility of the Applicants.

- By applying, Applicants acknowledge that other Applicants may have created ideas and concepts that may be similar to their entry, and that Applicants will not be entitled to any compensation or right to negotiate with the Promoter over such matters.

- Shortlisted Applicants are responsible for ensuring that they are able to accept the place on the Programme as set out in these Terms and Conditions. They must also (if applicable) provide proof of consent from partners, directors and shareholders (as applicable) for their participation as representatives of an Entity where necessary and applicable.

- All entry instructions form part of these Terms and Conditions. By entering this Programme, all Applicants will be deemed to have accepted and shall be bound by the Terms and Conditions.

p. Application for the USPF Changemaker Challenge is completely free at zero cost.

5 - EVALUATION AND SHORTLISTING/SELECTION

a. The evaluation criteria for each USPF Changemaker Challenge event will be determined by the Promoter and independent panel of judges based on the USPF Changemaker Challenge theme and solution categories for the event.

b. An independent panel of judges and the Promoter shall review and evaluate all eligible application upon closure of the Application Windows

c. Applicants must notify the promoter of any changes to contact details that may have occurred after signup

d. Shortlisted Applicants will be contact primarily by email and possibly by telephone.

e. Only Shortlisted Applicants will participate in the hackathon event.

6 - TERMS AND CONDITIONS

a. All Applicants shall be subject to the Terms contained in this document, and any other rules and guidelines published by the USPF Changemaker Challenge from time to time for the running of the USPF Changemaker Challenge.

b. The Promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend all or any part of the Rules without notice. Any changes to the Rules will be posted on the USPF Changemaker Challenge portal. It is the responsibility of shortlisted Applicants & Beneficiaries to keep themselves informed as to any changes to the Terms of Use & conditions. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss suffered by Applicants or Beneficiaries due to any changes to the Terms of Use.

c. The Promoter reserves the right to co-own Tech solutions & ideas as well as partner with any of the Shortlisted Applicants under the USPF Changemaker Challenge as deemed fit with the purpose of ensuring investing and/or promoting such tech solutions and/or ideas

d. If for any reason the Programme is not capable of running as planned for reasons including but not limited to tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures, force majeure events or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Programme, the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Programme and disqualify any Shortlisted Applicant. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss arising from modification, suspension or cancellation of the Programme.

7 - COMMUNICATION, TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATION COSTS

a. The programme facilitators and promoters shall subsidise the travel and accommodation costs for Applicants on matters related only to USPF Changemaker Challenge.

b. The Promoter will not be liable for any injury, loss or damage to property or life arising from attending the USPF Changemaker Challenge physically or virtually
